School of Engineering & Technology (SET) organized an industrial visit to Center-for-e-Governance (CeG), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), New Delhi on 18 Nov 2019 for the ECE, Mechanical & Civil Engineering students. The students attended workshop on ‘Digital India’ conducted by Mr. Sunil Kumar, Project Manager, CeG. The students were familiarized with implementation, usage & practices done in the e-Governance. The CeG is a part of the Awareness and Communication activity under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). It provides a unique platform for wider dissemination of awareness regarding successful e-Governance initiatives in the country as well as the roadmap for implementation of e-Governance. The students were initially briefed about vision & objectives of NeGP and Mission Mode Project (MMPs). Students were given presentation on e-Governance initiatives, methods, policies, services, CSC (common services center) infrastructure, Mobile Service Delivery Gateway, various e-services (e-Pramaan, e-Innovation, e-Learning, e-Security, e-office, e-kisan, Umang, digilocker, e-disha etc.) and National Policy on Information Technology. Various e-Projects implemented by central Government were showcased like govt File transfer system, Banking, Central Excise & Customs, Income Tax (IT), Insurance, Passport, Pension, etc. Some of the e-governance projects like MEE-SEVA, SANYOG, ENOVISION were also demonstrated to the students.
In the end, a quiz was also conducted consisting of general awareness questions wherein top three students won exciting prizes. Overall, the visit was highly informative & knowledgeable for the students especially in the field of e-Governance & Digital India initiatives.
